July 2011-I am having an exhibition of some new and different work at the Breckenridge Theatre Gallery in the Breckenridge Arts District. I have titled the exhibition "Chromatic Abstractions". These photos were created on a trip to central Mexico in April of 2010. There was no particular intention other than to spend some personal time looking for and making new photographs just for the fun of it.
I spent each day walking the cobblestone alleyways of the towns of
San Miguel De Allende and Guanajuato.
With my senses inundated by the bright colors favored by residents to brighten up their community, my eye was drawn away from the obvious
scenes usually photographed in foreign locales.
I found myself focusing on the abstractions in the colors, shapes and textures of the scenes. My subconscious visual instincts framed and
flattened the elements of the scenes before me as I explored these towns with my mind in a state of chromatic abstraction.
These images are a visual departure from the landscape subjects and compositions that I had been creating in Colorado over the last decade.
Since this creative exercise in Mexico, these compositional elements have carried over to my subsequent landscape work back here in
the Colorado high country. You may view samples of these images in the Travel> Mexico section of my website.
The Opening Reception is on Saturday, July 9th, from 4-6 PM if you are in the neighborhood. Backstage Theater Gallery € 121 South Ridge Street, Breckenridge, CO 80424

October 2010- We have had a great summer and fall season meeting lots of new friends and clients at the gallery as well and at the many art festivals where I have exhibited my work over the last few months. Thanks to everyone for your support of our gallery and my photography!
Tracy and I will be closing the gallery for the month of October in order to enjoy some time together and visit friends and family in the east. We will be driving the east coast during the autumn and hope to come back from our travels with some exciting new photos to share.
December 2009 - The city of Greenwood Village has just sent out its 2010 calendar, featuring photos of water environments around Greenwood Village that I captured from March through September 2009. The city will use the calendar to educate its citizens about water conservation and preservation.
From Dec. 1-18, a special exhibition, Precious Water-From the Mountains to the Prairie, will feature my favorite images from this project at the Curtis Arts & Humanities Center, 2349 E. Orchard Road in Greenwood Village, CO
Melissa Gallegos, public information officer for Greenwood Village, believes the calendar is a national award winner. You can view the images from the calendar and exhibit in the Colorado Resorts and Towns section of my website.
January 2009- I was notified that one of my new images has been selected for an exhibition sponsored by the Colorado Council on the Arts. The five foot long panoramic image of old growth aspen tree trunks in autumn (COL-T013) will be exhibited at Denver International Airport from February through May and will then move to the Colorado Capitol in Denver from June through August 2009.
March 2008- I was commissioned by Copper Mountain Resort to produce a series of images for their marketing department. The goal was to capture groups of people skiing and riding powder and showcase their snowcat skiing operation.
Spring 2008- I was commissioned to produce five more new mural prints for SCTV10 in Summit County. These 14 foot wide mural prints are used as backdrops for the TV studio programs that provide the citizens of Summit County with information about the activities and services of their government.
In 2008, my wife Tracy left her longtime job as a visual merchandiser and began working in the gallery. Tracy has been enjoying her new career and has quickly learned the ins and outs of our operation and handles all of the mounting and laminating of our mural sized prints. Her support has allowed me to spend much more time in the field creating new images.
